THE DANIEL FAST

We're halfway through 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting! Though you may be craving some sugar or a juicy hamburger, I hope that your craving for Jesus is even greater!

I personally have been attacked during this period and have also had some amazing victories! I know most of you are in the same boat. Just remember, even when we don't see God, He's working!

Speaking of working, I've been working hard on bringing you another fast-friendly recipe! This one is to satisfy all of your breakfast needs:

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 cups old fashioned oats (do not use instant or quick cooking)

  • 1 cup chopped apples

  • ½ cup chopped walnuts

  • 4 cups water

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon

  • ½ cup chopped dates (¾ cup if you like dates)

PREPARATION

*Preheat oven to 350 degrees

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Combine oats, walnuts, cinnamon and a pinch of salt in a bowl – mix well.

  2. In a separate container combine water and vanilla.

  3. Combine all ingredients (except the dates) and stir gently.

  4. Pour into a lightly oiled 8 x 8″dish.

  5. Bake at 350° degrees F for 30 to 60 minutes (I recommend keeping a close eye on this after 30 minutes; in my experience, it is done before 60 minutes)

  6. When done, take out of oven, stir in the dates, and serve.

  7. ENJOY!
